sooooo just a lil confession

i haven't watched jimmy's smp streams and it's honestly because of that one newlife stream where scott teleports jimmy where jimmy gets stuck and dies

now i maybe just projecting onto jimmy but i really do think he got really panicked that he became unable to think clearly at the time and wasn't able to pull out his shovel (which was in his hotbar) to dig out

i also think that at the time, his body (in this case, his fingers/hand on the mouse) was moving faster than he could think which may be also why he trued to use his pickaxe instead of his shovel

and i genuinely could feel his disappointment right after his unsuccessful attempt at digging himself out

i got upset when, after he got revived/respawned, scott and the others (i can't remember if it was just scott but i'll put the others there as well) (also i refuse to watch that stream again) immediately went on about why he didn't get himself out and why he left himself die (although scott apologized then, i still felt like they were entirely blaming jimmy only here)

then i got even more upset when i saw the chat filled with "YOU HAD A SHOVEL IN YOUR HOTBAR!!!" and "why did you use a pickaxe lol" and the vod's comment section also had comments like that and comments basically saying "it's literally jimmy's fault lol" and "it's your fault jim, you had a shovel in your hotbar" (so again, blaming jimmy here)

uhhhh again, i maybe projecting only but yeah, i refuse to watch another smp livestream after that incident (i've also been kind of on and off when it comes to watching the streams during esmp2 because of the toy jokes and all that) (i think this newlife stream may have been the last straw for me??? idk)

Yooooooo self-aware HSR AU!!!

I would LOVE to know what some characters might think of Reader constantly battling the 50/50s (like how the HSR VAs get together and pull on the banners) with a side of the gacha seemingly favoring Bronya. 😅🤣

Off the top of my head, probably the worst one could be when Reader lost more than seven 50/50s in a row. (Based on past experience. 🫠) And not too long ago, they tried to pull for Sunday when his banner was running and when they saw the Harmony symbol—

—well…no points for guessing who showed up in his place. 😅

And then Reader ended up going all the way to max pity.

Reader: “IS THIS KARMA FOR RUNNING HIM OVER WITH THE ASTRAL EXPRESS!??!?!?!??!”

LMAOOO THIS IS GOLD. 😭😭

Okay, so here's how I think it would happen 🤭 (might not be accurate to the characters, plus idk much about pity and stuffs but I tried from the knowledge I got from yt shorts lol)

Bronya, being the gacha queen, might definitely notice how she keeps showing up in your pulls—especially when she’s not the one you’re aiming for. At first, she’d be gracious, “You’ve summoned me again. I can only assume it’s because you trust in my abilities to lead us to victory.”

But after, like, the fifth time, even she starts getting suspicious. “Is this… intentional? Or is this fate…? Regardless, I’ll fulfill my duties, as always.”

(Meanwhile, March is trying so hard not to laugh in the background: “Bronya AGAIN? You’re doomed!”)

Seven losses in a row, though? That’s when Himeko and Welt step in with some serious concern. “Seven? I’d say the odds are against you, but that’s… statistically impossible. Are you sure the stars aren’t just playing with you?”

“Perhaps this is a reflection of the balance you must maintain across dimensions… or you’re simply cursed.” (Thanks for the pep talk, Grandpa...)

Meanwhile, Silver Wolf is like, “You’re fighting against an algorithm. That’s your first mistake.” And then she offers to “fix” it for you (she can’t, but she enjoys messing with your hopes).

The Harmony symbol flashes, your heart soars, and then… Bronya. AGAIN. The absolute audacity.

Reader: “WHY WON’T YOU LET HIM COME HOME!?”

Bronya, oblivious to your suffering, “I will stand by your side, no matter the circumstances. Was this not what you intended?”

Everyone else is just dying. March is clutching her stomach “HAHAHA you were trying to pull for Sunday, and you got Bronya? AGAIN? Oh, I’m gonna cry—this is too good!” (she would definitely take pictures of you suffering.)

Dan Heng would try to be supportive, offering his trademark calm wisdom, “Perhaps it’s better to focus on what you do have. Bronya is an asset in any situation.” But even he can’t fully hide the slight twitch of amusement at your misfortune.

Now the real kicker: when you lose another 50/50 for Sunday and start yelling about karma for running him over with the Astral Express. EVERYONE stops.

Sunday, if he somehow hears this, “...You… WHAT?” (i kinda wanna hc that these characters aren't actually present during the fights/battle scenes.)

The Trailblazer looks at you like you (more like your screen) just committed war crimes.

Meanwhile, March is choking on her drink, “Wait, you RAN OVER HIM? Like, with the ACTUAL EXPRESS? And now he won’t come home? That’s… yeah, that’s fair, actually.”

Even Himeko raises a brow, “Well… actions do have consequences, as they say.”

You’d swear you hear Kafka’s voice somewhere in the distance, smirking, “Seems like fate is toying with you. What a fascinating little game you’ve got going.”

By the time you hit max pity, the entire Astral Express crew has started following your pulling rituals. March has a notepad, “Alright, you’ve hit 79 pity. This next pull is gonna be the one, I feel it—oh… wait. Nope. That’s another Bronya.”

Pom-Pom is pacing nervously in the background, muttering, “At this rate, the economy of our inventory is going to collapse.”

When you FINALLY pull Sunday, the whole group cheers like it’s a world event. Dan Heng, however, just calmly says, “Perhaps you’ve learned not to anger the stars. Or… the train.”

At the end of it all, Bronya might start feeling awkward about always showing up. If you mention your struggles, she’d quietly apologize, “If I’ve interfered with your plans… I am sorry. I only wanted to be of help to you. Perhaps the stars are telling us something we don’t yet understand.” (Translation: she’s just as confused as you are.)

This AU would honestly be too much fun. Every pull would feel like an event for the Astral Express, and I can already imagine March becoming your emotional support bestie through it all. 😭🙏

I saw this yt short of a twitch streamer I follow who was going through her unban requests, and there was one person whose chat history was just them was spamming nothing but "where's dottie? where's dottie? where's dottie?" over and over, and it amused the hell out of me since it made me think of our Dottie HAHAH.

RAAAAHHHHH the smalldoug brainworm are INSANE working on another wip isn't enough, I NEED TO TALK MORE ABOUT THEM

They're like. Different flavours of the same product. to meee

They're both competitive, they like challenges, they both got a certain confidence/cockiness to them. BUT they're also just the cutest when it comes to looking out for the group (specifially thinking about doug making sure everyone drinks enough water during the japan stream & smant helping the newbies during hide&seek).

BUT ALSO. Aside from things that make my head spin for reasons I can't explain (like doug valuing entertainment so much he has a 2nd yt channel for vids that aren't quite main channel material, meanwhile smant has a twitch alt that he rarely streams on, but when he does, it's no facecam, minimal commentary, just him editing videos or practicing speedruns)

Like the cockiness? They both have reasons to be; Smant is like, naturally skilled at many things he does, and Doug is just so witty and creative. They're both clever in their own ways.

I just think their dynamic is so interesting, and I really wish to see more of it. Like, my highlights from the streams they did together: - Doug, during the mario strikers stream, suggesting to his opponents to play all toad. His (in his words) first time really meeting Smant, and it's Smant who not only suggests the all toads thing, he also says they should use similar colours. THEIR CHAOS MATCHES SO WELL - The whole hide & seek stream in general (Smant was so on board with doing his best to be a good replacement for Doug's stream!!) but especially him helping doug hide in the beginning, and near the end being so obsessed with finding him. Feels like he really couldn't go 5 minutes without mentioning him!!! - MINECRAFT STREAM. OKAY. Firstly, huge skill difference in that one (they both haven't played mario strikers before; they both greatly enjoy mario odyssey; smant has played a lot of mc while doug barely did much more than walk around for a bit). And Doug tried to compensate his lack of knowledge by being funny and otherwise trying his best to follow smant's orders and be useful, meanwhile smant, IN THE GENTLEST WAY, kept giving doug little hints to let him draw conclusions/come up with things "himself". (also the SPECIALEST shoutout to the nether section. i respect smant for not telling doug to stop entering the portal, he's taking so much damage every time, oh god)

And. To get more into rpf. Despite all their self-confidence, I think they're actually easy to get flustered. Like for Doug, just give that dog some praise and he'll stop barking. And Smant (confession: i watched his first celebrity crush video an ungodly amount of times just to see him blush and stammer) just needs some teasing, some calling out, and boom, all he can do is stammer. I just think that despite both enjoying being in charge, they're also desperate for someone to overpower them. (IN MY MIND THEY'LL HAPPILY BE THE SUB, THEIR TOP JUST NEEDS TO EARN THAT POSITION FIRST!!!) BUT. Seeing the other flattered is rewarding, but boring. Even their twitch chats managed to achieve that, where's the fun, where's the challenge? Which is precisely why I like exploring the competitive x competitive dynamic in my fics. Bc in my parasocial rpf heart, i genuinely believe they'd both be STOKED about having someone who enjoys turning sex into a competition. Like not just a little play-fight to get in the mood, but who really wants to give their everything to proving they're better, and who encourages them to give their best as well.

Also they're confirmed audhd & audhd-passing kings. which i think is beautiful.

He actually tries contacting me everywhere, he even sent me messages on SmackJeeves (when it was a thing) Comic Fury(I had cut all contact with him before SJ shut down so he literally followed me over there), tried to get to me on Discord multiple times, and a known alt of his was chilling in my Twitch streams before I banned him. (He might even be in my Patreon Discord server under an alt??? I’m not sure)

Like if I don’t have DA anymore, he’ll just target another platform.

He’s been a stalker for like 8 years at this point (11 if you count the years before I blocked him) so, yeah lol.

I don't know how many of you read "The King's Gifts", but I wanted to give an update here.

So... I know it's been a hot minute since I've uploaded a new chapter and I am sorry for that. Unfortunately life had decided to drop kick me several layers into the earth and I've had to do a lot to pull myself back out. I won't go too deep into it, but basically: someone important to me abandoning me for another person, a postponed medical procedure, pest issues in our apartment, not having access to my medication, slowly healing another relationship of mine... yeah. Keeping myself in as positive a mindset as possible has left me... almost numb and bitter sometimes...

I very much want to update the story, I really do. I have not given up on it, far from it! I still have ideas and even made notes for a different fic entirely (also DCA, of course). It's just that right now... I've felt that prioritizing activities that I know will keep my mind engaged in a positive way is the way to go. (Basically watching videos, streaming on Twitch and YT, crocheting, painting,...)

You see... I'm concerned that because of my current worries, those negative feelings will bleed into my writing in a way that will might ruin what I'm going for. Especially considering the relationships in the story.. My current emotional strain over certain relationships have put me in a bit of a sour mood, in a way.. Stress writing can be a great thing, but I very much want "The King's Gifts" to be something special, even if it IS very simplistic and not that beautifully written. 😅

All of this is to say, I will continue the story. It just probably won't be until after my top surgery, which is happening on the 18th of this month!! (I am so excited, oh my gosh) Maybe I'll write during my recovery, if I am in a good headspace. I promise though that I AM recovering emotionally, I AM doing so much better, and I WILL pick the story back up soon. 💛

TLDR: Been dealing with stuff. Getting top surgery (☺🥳) this month! Will update "The King's Gifts" soon!

Hot take since I've seen people split half and half here, but I think it's fine that Johnny Young Bosch is voicing Dante. Yes, it feels weird to hear "Nero's" voice coming out of Dante but oh well, we'll get used to it.

However I will say everyone trying to spin it as "Nero impersonating Dante" genuinely is like. Wow dude that is delusional. Saying it as a joke is one thing, but that is a whole other thing. For one thing we know this takes place pre-dmc3 because of the inclusion of the prequal manga for dmc3 that never got finished, and we straight up see Arkham in the trailer for a second.

My interpretation is that they're trying to combine all the extant DMC materials into one place alongside the games, which i'm actually happy about! Even a lot of hardcore dmc fans that i watch on yt/twitch don't ever seem to go into the extant lore like the books and manga. So they're starting from square one, so why not use a new VA for Dante (as much as I love Rueben's voice for him, i have looked at his Twitter and all I can say is WOW. I hope that man gets some help for his conspiracy theory descent).

As for JYB's tweet on him being cast as Dante for the anime on purpose, I don't think its because of the insane crackpot theory people have come up with. My guess is because he has already voiced one half of a pair of twins, twice actually , being Vash in the og trigun anime and Stampede. Vash and Knives are very similar to Dante and Virgil, which I think influenced the casting. So my guess is that Whenever Virgil shows up in the series, he'll be voiced by one of Knives's voice actors. Either Austin Tindle or Kirk Baily.

You hear a sniffle from your left.

"Are you crying, Mashi?" There's a nonstop river of tears streaming down your face accompanied by a watery nose, so it's not like you have any room to talk.

"I- No! I am not crying; I don't know what you're talking about..."

Mashirao glances at you only to see the lifted brow and the failed attempt at suppressing the smirk you're giving him. The movie's credits are rolling as if it didn't just drop the saddest scenes in history in the past few minutes.

"I'm totally fine," he chuckles with another sniffle.

Doing your best to lift your eyebrow impossibly higher, you hit him with an "Mhm..."

"Stop looking at me like that." He teasingly pushes at your legs that are spread across the couch to stretch over his lap. "I'm fine with sad people stuff in movies, but as soon as an animal is involved-"

He dramatically cuts himself off with a hand to his chest as he plays dead. Your eyes don't leave him as you reach for the popcorn bowl on the table. Still dead. Popping some pieces into your mouth, you decide to chuck one at him.

The kernel bounces off his chest without so much as a twitch from your boyfriend. So, naturally, you throw another. And another. And-

"Throw another one and see what happens." He finally opens an eye level you with a glance. Your hand is still poised and ready to launch the popcorn. If he wants to dare you, you'll be more than happy to fulfill his request.

So, you let it fly.

The popped corn hits him in the cheek and immediately the air is knocked from your lungs.

"Hey! Uf-" He plops his massive tail right on your stomach.

"Not fair!" You try to push it off you to no avail. You can't really be surprised. It's basically pure muscle; it's not moving until he says so.

Unfazed, Mashirao merely tosses the popcorn back at you, smacking you between the eyes with unfair accuracy. "Why did you invite me over? Just to scar me with sad puppies and to assault me with salty snacks?"

"Pretty much, yeah," you've accepted your now trapped fate, resigning yourself to play with his tail's fluff.

You had invited him to your house for a movie night, knowing damn well what you were doing when you queued up 'Where the Red Fern Grows'. Sure, you're crying too, but a win is a win.

"That's cruel even for you, Y/n- Invite me over just to watch me cry." He pinches your calf before continuing, "Just wanted to see your boyfriend weep?"

"It's not my fault you're such an easy target," You laugh, trying to yank your legs to safety.

"I'm sad now..." He lets out a fake cry, "No! Doggy~"

"Oh no! Not the puppies!" You throw your head back as you let out your own fake cry, the previous tears on your face helping to sell your act.

"Woah- Hold up! Look at you~ You're a mess," he's fully cackling now, "compared to me! I just teared up a bit- you were full sobbing!"

Not expecting to tables to get turned you attempt to sit up. Luckily, Mashirao gives you mercy and shifts his tail to rest in your lap instead.

"I was not!"

"Were too~ You're not even trying to hide it!"

Sticking your tongue out like a child is the only acceptable response, so that's what you do.

"Aw~ Would a hug make it better?~"

"WOulD A hUg MaKE iT BEtTeR?" At this point your arms are crossed, fully slipping into the role of a petulant child. Are you still sad over the movie? Yes. But are you still going to be petty? Yep.

He only laughs again. "Do you want a hug?~"

One last eyebrow raise and thousand-yard stare aimed at your partner has you conceding. "Kinda..."

Ever infuriating, Mashirao asks: "What was that baby?"

You purse your lips with an unheated glare before responding.

"Yeah."

"C'mere," he lifts his tail, opening his arms for you to climb into.

You bury your face into his chest, the soft fabric of his hoodie mixes with his warm, coffee and vanilla scent to wrap around you in the most comforting blanket you can imagine.

"It's okay- The doggos were acting, They're okay," Mashirao gently rocks the both of you until you drop a bombshell on him.

"This was made in the 70s, they're dead..."

"I-"

Taking his stunned silence as an opportunity, you wipe your drying tears on his hoodie.

"Wha- Hey! Are you wiping your snot on my hoodie!?" He tries to pull away, but your arms only tighten their hold.

"No, I'm not!" Your voice is muffled but you don't want to move.

"Get your face out of my hoodie, you heathen!" Luckily, your positions are keeping him from prying your head away.

"I'm not wiping anything on you, you bitch!" You laugh, definitely wiping a bit of snot on him.

The sudden name-calling makes him throw his head back as he tries to hold back a laugh. "Get. Out. Of. There!"

You pop up to stare him down again only to be closer than anticipated to his face. Your own laughter dies in your throat as you let out a small, "oh."

Mashirao's eyes go wide, and a blush crawls up his cheeks at the proximity. You know you're no better; you can feel the heat emitting from your own flushed face.

His eyes flicker down to your lips, staring for a second before he meets your gaze again.

"Hi..."

This is bad. Very bad.

No. Not bad.

But scary. Very, very scary.

Are you ready for this? On the one hand, you do want to kiss him. Words can't express how much you do. On the other hand, you've never kissed anyone before. You don't know what you're doing.

'Are you ready?' Are you crazy? No, you're not ready!'

With speed that could rival Iida, you're back on your side of the couch. You bring your knees up to your chest, deciding that the separation between the couch cushions is the most interesting thing you've seen all night.

"Hey- Are you okay? What's wrong?" Mashirao reaches out to you but pulls back when you instinctively flinch. "Baby?"

"I'm sorry..."

"What happened?"

You glance at him only to return your gaze to the cushions. The genuine concern in his eyes makes you feel even worse about how you reacted.

"I got scared..."

You see him shift in the corner of your eye. "You got scared? What of?"

"Being so close... It felt like we were going to kiss and I freaked out." There's no use lying, it would only cause more harm than good.

The room falls quiet for a second. God, you've ruined everything, haven't you? Who freaks out like that over a kiss?

"Did..." Mashirao finally speaks, "Did you not want to kiss me?"

The slight hurt in his voice kills you. You managed to bag the sweetest, perfect guy, and you've made him think he's unkissable. Great job, as always, Y/n.

"I did, that's what scared me." You rest your cheek on your knees, finally facing him again. "I've never... I've never kissed anyone..."

"Never?"

"Never," you shake your head. "Isn't that embarrassing? I'm a grown-ass woman who hasn't had my first kiss."

The laugh you let out is nothing short of self-deprecating.

"Why would that be embarrassing?" Why does he have to be so sweet all the time? Him asking you with such genuine curiosity is making you realize how silly this all is.

"I don't know; everybody else had theirs back in middle or high school and I'm sitting here like the world's biggest prude."

"No, you're not." There's a serious note to his voice that wasn't there a second ago.

"While it's not the biggest deal in the world, it's still a big step in a relationship. There's nothing wrong with not doing it yet, whether it's because you haven't been with anyone you deemed worthy or because you were focusing on other things in your life. You're supposed to take things like this at your own pace."

You try to find the words to respond but the only thing that manages to squeeze out is his name. "Mashirao..."

All of a sudden his eyes light up.

"I have an idea!" He twists in his seat to fully face you, pulling his legs up to sit cross-legged with his tail hooking over his shoulder. "If you're comfortable doing it, of course."

"And what's that?"

"We could play the "May I" game; it's kinda like firetruck or red light," You cringe a bit at that. Memories of "Firetrucks don't stop at red lights" fill your head.

Seeing your reaction, Mashirao seems to realize what was wrong with that analogy, "Without the ignoring of consent, that is!

"You ask the other person "May I ___" and, if they say yes, do that thing. It's to help with exploring boundaries and getting comfortable being closer." Despite the rocky start of the explanation, you've got to admit, it's kind of piquing your curiosity.

You shift to sit crisscross as well. "Okay, let's do it. How do we start?"

A comforting smile breaks across his face. "Is it okay if I go first?"

You know he won't jump straight into anything extreme so you nod.

"Okay. May I hold your hand?"

You let out a puff of air you didn't know you were holding. "Yeah. Yeah, that's fine."

He reaches across the space to grab your hand. His thumb rubs calming circles on the back of your hand. "It's your turn."

"Um..." Not sure what to ask, you go with the first thing to come to mind, "May I put my hand on your cheek?"

Your face feels so hot you could fry an egg on it. The eye smile he gives you doesn't help.

"You may."

Your hand is shaking a bit as you reach out. You watch as Mashirao's eyes shut when you make contact; he leans into your touch, letting out a sigh when you slide it down to his jaw.

"May I kiss your hand?"

You nod, then, realizing his eyes are still closed, you say, "Yes."

And so, he does. His lips are soft against your palm when he turns his head. It leaves you wondering how they'll feel against your own.

"My turn?" You ask.

He hums in approval.

Curious to see if he's as nervous as you, you ask, "May I move my hand to your chest?"

His eyes fly back open to stare at you. "I-"

Did you move too fast? Was that a weird ask?

Overrun by your thoughts, all you can do is apologize.

"No, yes! I mean-" He takes a breath to collect himself. "No, don't apologize and yes, you can; I was just surprised..." He scratches the back of his neck as he looks to the side.

He looks back at you once he finishes gathering himself.

You slide your hand down to his chest, stopping at his heart. Sure enough, it seems to be going just as fast as your own. "Your turn."

Clearing his throat, Mashirao asks, "May I hug you?"

"You may." You smile; this isn't bad. It's more intimate than you thought it would be, but you like it.

You shuffle over to him, sliding back into his arms like you never left. You hook your chin on his shoulder, content to breathe him in for a second. For a while, neither of you moves, happy to just bask in each other's presence. You're glad for the break, needing to steel yourself for your next question.

You take a final drag of his cologne and speak.

"May I sit in your lap?

"You wanna sit in my lap?" When you nod, he answers.

"Yeah, that's okay." You can feel his heart hammering against yours.

"Here," he pulls away a bit to help you shift into his lap. "Yeah, there; Just- Put your knees on either side of me."

Once situated, his arms wrap back around your waist and you lay your head back on his shoulder. His tail wraps around you to add extra support to your hips.

"May I kiss your cheek?" His voice rumbles your chest.

Drawing in a shaky breath, you nod. "Yeah."

Turning his head, Mashirao gently tucks a finger under your chin to tilt your cheek towards him. The kiss is brief, lasting only as long as he dared to let it. Your eyes sting a bit from how tender he's being.

Before he's fully pulled back, you ask, "May I kiss your cheek?"

"You may," he breathes.

"Close your eyes..." You're not sure you can settle your nerves enough to do this if he's looking at you that softly.

He lets out a small chuckle but complies, nonetheless.

You start to lean forward but stop to place your hand over his eyes. Just to be sure. When you finally make contact, you feel more than hear his sharp intake of breath. You only hold the kiss for a couple of seconds but it feels much longer.

"Was that alright?" You pull your hand away as he opens his eyes.

"'Was that alright?' It was more than alright. The girl I love just kissed me..."

You both freeze as you register what he just said. "You love me?"

"I'm sorry- I- I didn't mean to say that... You're already on edge and now I'm dropping the L word... God, I'm so stupid!"

"It's okay, 'Rao... I," you hesitate to finish your thought. 'He's been doing nothing but comforting you. It doesn't matter if you're embarrassed, just say it!' "I liked that you said it..."

And your face is back in his hoodie. Unfortunately for you, that means you're not seeing the breathtaking smile that he gives you.

"May I kiss you?" His voice is hushed, like what he's saying is only meant for your ears.

Here it is... The question you've both been building up to.

"You can." You don't make a move though, too nervous to think properly.

What if you're bad at kissing? Or you have bad breath?

"You're gonna have to let me see that pretty face, then," Mashirao's gentle teasing stops you from spiraling too far into your Olympic-sized swimming pool of self-doubt.

Tentatively, you raise your head from his chest, trying to prepare yourself for what's about to happen. Your hands are gripping the back of his hoodie like a lifeline.

Mashirao's hand comes up to cup your cheek, a comforting smile on his face as he gives you a second to ready yourself.

"Are you ready?" His breath fans across your face. The hand still on your back soothes over your nerves with each brush to your spine. You loosen your hold, bringing a hand up to the one on your cheek so you can lightly clutch his wrist.

"As I'll ever be," You return his consoling smile with a nervous one.

Slowly, to give you time to pull away should you change your mind, Mashirao leans in. He pauses a hair's breadth away. When you don't draw back, he closes the gap.

Your lips brush together with the intensity of a flicker of a butterfly's wing. Your eyes flutter shut and your hand tightens around his wrist. You're sure you could pass a polygraph test with how certain you are that your heart skipped a beat. You can't help the stuttered gasp that leaves you as he pulls away.

You swallow. That really just happened...

Without opening your eyes, you ask: "May I kiss you?"

You can feel his arm tighten around you. "Yes."

This time, when your lips collide, there's more desperation. The sliding of your lips together sends waves of euphoria and love crashing over you. You can't believe you've been missing out on this feeling; though, something tells you that it's only because it's Mashirao that you're feeling this way.

Your hands move to his hair, clutching at the soft strands with a fervor you didn't know you had. A noise akin to a whimper bubbles up your throat as you lift yourself to try and get closer.

All too soon, you have to break away to catch your breath. Neither of you moves as your foreheads rest together, content to breath each other in.

"Wow..." It's Mashirao who breaks the silence.

"Wow," you echo, licking your lips. God... You can still taste him on your lips.

"Hey, Mashi?" He hums in answer.

"I love you too."

I see people saying a lot "Oh, X game is too hard even on Easy" and then when they get pushback responding "I just suck at video games". And I don't think that's a good attitude to have(and the people pushing back are usually severely unhelpful). Yes, there's some games that are poorly balanced, and some people with physical or cognitive issues that make gaming much harder. But that's not what's going on in the majority of cases.

The thing is, playing video games is a skill. Gaming in general, each genre, and any individual game, all are skills. And like any skill, they can be trained. So, the key question if someone thinks they're bad at a game is, "how do we get better at this skill?" And I can't answer that for every game, but here's a basic start:

Are you fluent with all abilities? Even the one that doesn't seem to do anything? Often there's something(a boosting ability, something defensive, or something that gives information) that players can ignore early on but is vital for later portions of the game.

Pay attention to the whole experience. Games are very busy these days, and will use things like audio cues, enemy animations, or popups in the corner of the screen to tell you things. Make sure you're noticing all of that.

Manage resources well. This includes things like using healthpacks in RPGs instead of hording them and also learning when not to use them because you're near an auto heal. But also resources like your time and attention, physical space on the map, cooldowns on abilities, etc. Learn what to spend liberally and what to keep in reserve for an emergency.

Learn what is effective where. Pokemon has a type chart, FPS games have weapons with effective ranges, citybuilders yell at you for putting the coal plant in a tourism district. Learn the rules, and the resources from the previous step will be much more effective.

So how do you learn this for the game you're having trouble with? After all, if you could figure this out easily, you wouldn't be having trouble. The thing is, most of this stuff is too basic for online guides to spell out. And watching someone else's playthrough on YT/Twitch will show you what they're doing, but not why. The ideal is to have a friend who's good at the game watch you play and then yell about it, but that's not always feasible.

My trick? Restart the game, play through again on a higher difficulty. "But I'm getting my ass kicked on easy, why would normal be any better?" Thing is, you're probably getting your ass kicked BECAUSE you're on easy. You were able to make it to the midgame without developing basic skills because there was no challenge, and now the game is demanding you use skills you don't even know exist. But you have at least learned some of the game, so restart, and play through with more knowledge. Focus on beating the early portions of the game BETTER than you did your first time through, and you might be surprised how much easier the later portions are when you get there.

And don't forget that gaming is supposed to be fun. If you're not having fun, it's fine to stop. But also, developers put a lot of time into the game thinking that it would be fun*. If you're not having fun, it's also fine to ask what the designers were expecting you to do instead to make it fun.

But now every time he goes out to fish, Niki 'unluckily' gets caught again and again...

Disclaimer: I have no idea how blindness actually affects people on a day to day basis. This will not be accurate. And I have no idea how to write these characters either lmao.

It’s hard going through the apocalypse while you’re blind, but Dream has been… handling it fairly well, he’d like to think. 

Especially when that apocalypse is based purely on sight. Any human that looks at the- he’s not sure what to call it, honestly- the beasts go insane. He’s taken to calling them ‘Medusas’ because he’s fairly certain that, before everything went to shit, there was a story of some lady that would turn people to stone if they looked at her. He’s not sure. It sounds fake, to be honest, but he stumbled across another human who told him about it. They said it was… ‘Greek mythical,’ or something.

Regardless, he’s been able to move around with the walking stick he’s had since forever. Plus, since his eyesight is non-existent, his other senses have strengthened to make up for the lack of one less processor. Some days are… shit, to be frank. He’s dropped his cane and had to fumble around to find it, and that’s not even considering the rest of the disadvantages that come with being blind. 

He has.. no idea how he’s been able to survive. He thinks it’s luck. Whatever it is, it’s the only thing that’s been keeping him alive for so long. He’s thankful for that. 

And he’s even more thankful when he hears the rare shuffle of feet. It looks like he’s finally stumbled across another person- or… monster. Whatever, it’s company, even if the monster can’t talk back to him. Most of the time when there’s a monster, they end up wandering off and not responding to him. It’s how he knows who’s human or not.

Turning towards the sound, he lifts his head when the shuffling freezes, “hello?” he calls out, hoping that they’re human. 

After a clear hesitant pause, “hello?” And, oh! Finally, another person. He smiles.

“Hey! Great to finally come across another human,” he hears mumbling, but it’s incomprehensible. He shifts slightly to face the voice a little more, “sorry, if you couldn’t tell, I’m, uh, blind,” he laughs.

“Oh,” the voice still sounds.. confused, “uh. Yeah. I couldn’t… tell.” Dream pauses, tilting his head.

“Do you not know what being blind is?” It’s the apocalypse, it… would make sense that people might not know about it, he supposes. The voice is silent, and he quickly adds, “it’s okay. It’s the apocalypse, I get it. Information is a little scarce. I basically just can’t see. My name is Dream, by the way. What’s yours?”

”My.. name? Oh. My name. My name isss… George. It’s George,” the voice seems to fumble, and he laughs a little.

“Are you sure? It kinda seems like you just made that up, George,” he emphasized teasingly, feeling the edge of his mouth twitch up in amusement, “I guess that makes sense, though. I don’t come across people that often either, so it takes a second to remember that greeting people is a common courtesy.”

“Y..yeah,” the voice- George- laughs, a tad awkwardly, “yeah, it takes a little bit to remember how to speak, y’know?”

Dream meets George, who’s… not as human as he seems. But, hey, Dream doesn’t need to know that.

Basically, shenanigans between the two bc George is used to just driving humans insane and never exactly having company. No less company that doesn’t shut the fuck up. Dream gets someone who can make life a little bit easier, George gets to learn what it’s like to be human, and both of them get to have some well-needed company.

Good morning! That is also the thing I am excited for most! The auto crafter is going to make everything so INSANELY EFFICIENT for things like iron farms, gold farms, you could even make redstone component farms! I'm obsessed with the new blocks and copper varients and honestly???? I'm actually super excited for the trial chambers. I've recently found a love for dungeon crawling and all the blocks make it soooo pretty. More than anything? I love that mojang is going back to already released features and fixing them! Like the pots now being stackable and you can put items in them!

Oh honestly, twitch has a better audience reach and is waaaay more stable when it comes to streaming. I don't have to make a thumbnail or write a description just to get the attention from people who might be looking at their sub feed and not to mention, I just straight up don't know if theres a feature that lets me mark the stream as mature like twitch does. I might try and stream on yt one day but I doubt it!

For horror games I like ManlyBadassHero. Doesnt scream. Plays mainstream and indie games. Rpg maker games, visual novels, etc. Even when you can tell he doesnt like the game (like garden of banban or w/e) he doesnt gratuitously shit on it. Like 10% of the comment section is like "im glad he doesnt scream into his mic like 99% of other youtubers". Really chill to watch imo. I dont know what hes like on twitch but I like watching the YT videos a lot. I used to watch people on twitch but i eventually figured i dislike having the lets play interrupted when the player talks with the chat so edited yt videos is what i prefer nowadays
